This is a logo redesign I created for the Toledo Ladies for the Clubs (TLC). TLC is a group of women made up of business owners, executives, retirees and moms who are dedicated to supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo. TLC's purpose is to promote the Clubs youth by teaching, encouraging, inspiring and educating the community. This logo redesign emulates the concept of these “4 services – teach, encourage, inspire, educate” and represents them with the 4 hands all branching off from the same center which is representative of the community. The 4 hand design is twofold as it also represent these women and the club children who they support, as they come together and intertwine just like the hands do in the design to support this charity.
Identity is more then just logo design it is about showing a message through custom designs that are reinforced by colors, style, and uniformity. Designing a brand identity is a very rewarding process, it takes consistency to be able to design an identity that conveys what a company is trying to communicate to their customer base and show what brand business values are.
One of my favorite ways to tell a story is through graphic illustrations. Whether I create it through traditional means or by digitally drawing on a computer, I find the use of illustrations powerful, because it allows me to convey a particular effect with a mix of colors, graphics and drawings.
