I created this brand for Downtown Toledo and their newest entertainment space, the Downtown Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA). DORA launched June 15, 2017 in portions of downtown Toledo’s Central and Warehouse Districts. The DORA allows patrons of one of the 24 participating restaurants, pubs and entertainment venues to carry up to 16 oz. of an open alcoholic beverage in a designated cup. The area bounded by Adams, Lafayette, Erie and Summit streets (ALES) comprises the DORA area. I designed the brands signature look & feel as well as all other graphic elements for DORA. Including the logo design, brand identify, informational brochure pamphlets, poster and billboard design, as well as marking collateral such as cups, t-shirts and street signs.

IDENTITY

Identity is more then just logo design it is about showing a message through custom designs that are reinforced by colors, style, and uniformity. Designing a brand identity is a very rewarding process, it takes consistency to be able to design an identity that conveys what a company is trying to communicate to their customer base and show what brand business values are.

STORYTELLING

For me being a graphic designer means being able to create something that tells a story. Storytelling is what I love most about design and what drives me to create. In todays world we are constantly surrounded by images so when a company or product is able to tell their message and stand out as different purely through good branding, something beautiful is made, their brand story.
