Hello, my name is Kelsey Ketcham

I was born in Tucson, Arizona, raised in Omaha, Nebraska and am currently making a living in Toledo, Ohio working as a graphic designer at a local full service advertising agency.  I graduated from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, with a double emphasis in Graphic Design and Photography.

In my free time you can either find me baking all types of treats, making a new DIY project for around the house, or organizing anything that I can get my hands on. If I'm not cooking, designing or cleaning you can bet I'm playing with my adorable pug puppy, Herbie.

Please feel free to contact me for freelance work or to chat about design.

For me being a graphic designer means being able to create something that tells a story. Storytelling is what I love most about design and what drives me to create. In today's world we are constantly surrounded by images so when a company or product is able to tell their message and stand out as memorable purely through good branding, something beautiful is made, their brand story.

One of my favorite ways to tell a story is through graphic illustrations. Whether I create it through traditional means or by digitally drawing on a computer, I find the use of illustrations powerful, because it allows me to convey a particular effect with a mix of colors, graphics and drawings.

Design can mean so many things, but to me it means creating something that is both unique and eye catching with the power to communicate a higher level of meaning. This idea of design is to create something that the viewer can relate to and identify with, be it a well-designed logo, poster, or brochure. Being able to successfully understand the meaning purely through graphics is what good design is all about.

The ability to capture and create memories, mood, and feelings is what draws me to photography. I constantly find myself framing compositions as I walk down the road, or notice something that would make a great photograph. No matter what the image is, a special event or an inspiring landscape the idea of freezing a moment in time speaks to me.
